📌 “There is” → Used for singular nouns (one thing).
📌 “There are” → Used for plural nouns (more than one thing).
✔ Examples:
Type | Sentence | Example |
---|---|---|
✅ Singular (1 thing) | There is + a/an + noun | There is a cat in the house. |
✅ Plural (2+ things) | There are + number + noun | There are three books on the table. |
❌ Negative | There isn’t / There aren’t | There isn’t a TV in my room. / There aren’t any apples in the fridge. |
❓ Question | Is there…? / Are there…? | Is there a park near here? / Are there any chairs in the room? |
