Comparativi e Superlativi in Inglese: Li Sbagli Ancora?

AggettivoComparativoSuperlativo
talltallerthe tallest
fastfasterthe fastest
happyhappierthe happiest
beautifulmore beautifulthe most beautiful
expensivemore expensivethe most expensive

Cambiamenti Ortografici da Conoscere

  • Finali in -y: cambia y in i prima di aggiungere -er/-est. happy → happier, happiest.
  • Vocale singola + consonante: raddoppia la consonante. big → bigger, biggest.
  • Finali in -e: aggiungi solo -r/-st. nice → nicer, nicest.

badworsethe worst
farfarther / furtherthe farthest / furthest
much / manymorethe most

As…As: Confrontare Due Cose Uguali

Quando due cose sono uguali, invece del comparativo si usa “as + aggettivo + as”. “This bag is as heavy as that one.” “She’s not as tall as her sister.”

Gli aggettivi più lunghi usano more/most.

Perché si dice “better” e non “gooder” o “more good”?

Posso combinare “more” e “-er” insieme?

No, mai. “More better” o “more taller” sono sempre sbagliati; scegli una forma o l’altra, non entrambe.

Come confronto due cose uguali?

Usa “as + aggettivo + as”: “This bag is as heavy as that one”, invece di una forma comparativa.

Sì, quasi sempre: “the best”, “the tallest”, “the most beautiful”, perché i superlativi descrivono qualcosa di unico in un gruppo.
