🔍 What is the Past Simple Tense?

The Past Simple Tense is used for:
Finished actions in the past – “I watched a movie yesterday.”
A series of actions in the past – “He woke up, brushed his teeth, and left.”
Past habits – “She always walked to school.”

📌 Example Sentences:
Incorrect: “He go to school yesterday.”
Correct: “He went to school yesterday.”

📝 How to Form the Past Simple Tense

👉 For Regular Verbs: Verb + -ed

1️⃣ Affirmative Sentences (Regular Verbs)

✔ I played football.
✔ She walked to school.
✔ We visited our grandmother.

👉 For Irregular Verbs, the verb changes completely.

2️⃣ Affirmative Sentences (Irregular Verbs)

✔ I ate pizza.
✔ He went to the park.
✔ They bought a new car.

❌ Negative Sentences in the Past Simple

To make a negative sentence, use:
👉 did not (didn’t) + base verb

📌 Examples:
❌ I did not (didn’t) eat pizza.
❌ She did not (didn’t) go to school.

❓ How to Ask Questions in the Past Simple

To ask a question, use:
👉 Did + Subject + base verb?

📌 Examples:
Did he sleep early? → Yes, he did. / No, he didn’t.
Did they watch TV? → Yes, they did. / No, they didn’t.
