Phrasal Verbs Inglesi: Li Capisci o Fingi Solamente?

Cosa Sono Davvero i Phrasal Verbs Inglesi

“Give up” non significa “dare su”, significa arrendersi.

Alcuni phrasal verbs permettono di inserire l’oggetto tra il verbo e la particella (“turn the offer down” o “turn down the offer”, entrambi corretti), mentre altri no (“look after my dog”, mai “look my dog after”). Con i pronomi, però, la regola è fissa: se il phrasal verb è separabile, il pronome va sempre in mezzo (“turn it down”, non “turn down it”).

Domande Frequenti sui Phrasal Verbs Inglesi

No, quasi mai.

I madrelingua usano davvero così tanto i phrasal verbs inglesi?

Qual è la differenza tra “look after” e “look for”?

“Look after” significa prendersi cura di qualcuno, mentre “look for” significa cercare qualcosa; sono completamente diversi nonostante la somiglianza.

Dove va il pronome in un phrasal verb separabile?

Con i pronomi (it, him, her), il pronome va sempre inserito tra il verbo e la particella nei phrasal verbs separabili: “turn it down”, non “turn down it”.

Ascoltando film, serie e podcast in inglese, dove i phrasal verbs appaiono in contesto reale, e usandoli tu stesso ad alta voce.
