Start the testCheck the long EE in see, tree, people and believe, and make sure leave never sounds like live. All ten sentences are A2 level, with everyday topics and slightly longer phrases.
The long E in see and green is a long, tense vowel with the lips spread as if smiling and the tongue high at the front of the mouth. It contrasts with the short I in sit, and many English words change meaning between the two, such as feel and fill or seat and sit. Holding the long E for its full length is the key.
At A2 you already know the everyday words, so this is the right moment to fix habits before they become permanent. The sentences talk about shopping, travel and free time and are a little longer, which helps you keep the sound clear inside a phrase.
Making it too short, so leave sounds like live
Not spreading the lips enough
Following unusual spellings, so people and key sound wrong
