The Curious Curse: A Tale of Dark Shadows and Daring Choices
Johannes was a curious boy. He always asked a lot of questions and wanted to know everything. One day, his mother warned him, "Do not eat on the bed. If you do, you will grow horns." Johannes was scared at first. He did not want horns!
But soon, Johannes started to think. "How can eating on the bed make me grow horns? That can't be true," he said to himself. One day, he took a small piece of bread and ate it on his bed. He waited and looked in the mirror. No horns grew. He smiled and thought, "Mother must be joking."
The next day, he ate even more food on the bed. "See, mother?" he said proudly. "Nothing happened!" His mother frowned and said, "Do not do it again, Johannes." But he did not listen.
One stormy night, while Johannes was sleeping after eating on his bed, the wind blew hard. The room became cold, and the shadows grew long and dark. Suddenly, a huge, dark creature appeared. It looked like a giant bird, but it was pale and ghostly, with black and white feathers. The bird grabbed Johannes with its strong claws and flew away.
Johannes was scared. He wanted to scream, but the wind was too loud. The giant bird carried him high in the sky and took him to its nest on a tall, rocky cliff. In the nest were big, scary chicks with sharp beaks. The bird set Johannes down and the chicks came close, looking hungry.
But the chicks had a rule—they would only eat a boy who was awake. Johannes was so tired from the flight that he closed his eyes and fell asleep. The chicks watched and waited, but they could not eat him because he was sleeping. Hours passed, and the chicks fell asleep too.
When Johannes woke up, he saw that the giant bird and its chicks were sleeping. He moved very slowly and quietly. He crawled out of the nest, careful not to make any noise. He climbed down the rocks and ran through the forest as fast as he could. When he got home, he hugged his mother tightly and promised to always listen to her warnings.
Moral: Sometimes, being curious can lead to danger. It is important to listen to those who care about you.
